COME RIDE WITH US!

The Boeing Employees' Bicycle Club (BEBC) welcomes guests and potential members on all its rides, and we encourage you to join us on any of our fun, social, and healthy outings. You don't need to be a member of the club to ride with us, and unless otherwise stated, there are no fees; all you need to do is show up at the start point and have fun. The ride descriptions in the schedule explain the level of activity and speed involved in any ride. Please join us on a ride soon!

The Club's focus is group riding, on roads, trails, and off-road

(mountain biking). Members lead rides most days of the week, all year long. Lengths vary from less than 10 miles to over 100 miles. Speeds are scheduled in four ranges: 10 mph and slower, 10-13 mph, 13-16 mph, or 16+ mph. On Wednesdays and Saturdays we have "Slow & Easy" rides scheduled in addition to our other rides. There are also overnight, multi-day rides. The rides are mostly in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia.

Our members sometimes participate in tours in more distant locations such as Death Valley, California and "Bike & Barge" trips in Europe. Club member commuting and group mileages are tracked, with a grand total since 1965 over 2 million miles.

Club meetings can feature slide shows of bicycle trips, discussions of cycling safety, and tips on repair, equipment and routes. BEBC meets several times a year, including a banquet meeting in January, a picnic in August and ride leaders' socials at other times. We also occasionally meet at the Kent Activity Center. All other meetings are scheduled as announced in the newsletter and on the web. Annual dues are $15 for individual or $20 for family.  The fee for receiving mailed paper copies of the newsletter is $5/year due to the high costs of paper, printing, and postage. Remember, members get it for free off this website!
